Does anyone have one of these?

How cute!

[PRO]CRASTINATION

Wow! It's been quite a while since I've even looked at this page! And a lot has happened since my last post.

The biggest news is that Mike and I are moving the wedding date back. We both love the idea of a fall harvest wedding, but after sitting down to discuss our situation next fall we've decided that it will work out better for us in the end. See, I will be in graduate school next school year earning my Master of Architecture degree and will graduate in May 2010. Therefore, we've decided to consider early June 2010. June is still an important month for the both of us, because our birthdays are in June and only 8 days apart. It's actually kind of funny, because Mike's brother and his wife both share January birthdays. It seems to run in the family.

We've also decided on a location. The Haven at Center Hill, of course! We both love it. And Mary Lapos, the owner, has been the most hospitable and understanding vendor to work with. Her place offers us the perfect outdoor farm feel. Having the wedding in June, we can be guaranteed warmer weather and a better chance of a nice sunny day.

We've also selected our photographers, Mike and Sherry Minnig. They recently shot some photos at the Haven, which you can check out at their website.

Needless to say, the theme is transitioning to more of a warm-weather picnicky kind of thing. Getting more casual lets us save money on items like paper plates and brown paper bags. Check out Michelle and Noah's Picnic Wedding and all of the fun stuff they incorporated
into it. Or this Snippet & Ink post. I'm in love with their "Little Prairie Wedding" post.

Gosh, there are so many amazing ideas out there!

Not only that but I've been addicted to vintage wedding gown websites. I've fallen in love with a gown from Vintageous. However, it was sold. Now I'm on the hunt for something similar. Please, try not to drool...

I love the top the most!

photogs

In the spirit of photography, I thought I'd share some of my inspiration for the wedding. I'm looking for photographers with a "photojournalistic" style to capture the day's events. However, finding photographers who fit into our price range is another story. We've narrowed it down to a couple different photographers in our area.

We've already met with Mike and Sherry Minnig from Michael Minnig Photography. I love their photojournalistic style. And they were so personable and seem like they would do a great job at the wedding. Tomorrow we meet with David Miller from Photography by David Miller. He has a similar style. We'll have to do a lot of comparing to figure out who is better for us.

An image from my binder showing the "feeling" of the wedding:

Here are some photos that I lov
e by The Wiebners (who, unfortunately, don't fit within our budget):

I just love her birdcage veil! So vintage inspired!

I love the style of Amanda Kraft Photography, but, yet again, money is always a determining factor when you're trying to maintain a tight budget.

I also found inspiration in anything by gwynethcolleen.

I'm thinking of filling a table with old family photos of relatives' weddings and photos of me and Mike. Below is a neat idea I pulled from the blog of bigsurbride

Hooray for fun antique photos!

where to begin...?

Upon perusing through multiple wedding magazines, and I do mean many many magazines, I've come across countless wedding ideas centered around the rustic fall prairie theme. And I love it!! You should see my wedding book. OK, if you insist.

Here's a photo:

And it's stuffed with the cutest ideas I've ever seen. Like this:

Or this (the wedding sign):

I guess it's safe to say that the wedding ceremony and reception will be outdoors, most likely on a farm with wide open fields and mountains in the background. It's got to have that laidback, not-trying-too-hard-to-be-beautiful, woodsy quality. We've visited The Haven at Center Hill a couple of times and love it. Now I just have to convince someone (ahem...the groom) to say YES!

What I've been working on recently are the invitations. Yeah, I know. I still have about 9-10 months before I even have to start thinking about wedding invitations. I just want to stay busy with the planning, so that it doesn't all snowball on me at the end. Especially since I'll have about a nine month period where all that I'll be eating/sleeping/breathing is my fifth-year thesis. But that's another story. The plan is to use MyGatsby for the printed elements and Cards & Pockets for the pocket folder, where they're less expensive and offer free shipping! Take a look at all the scrapbook papers I've collected for the invitation backing and other projects:

And I found the cutest stamps (here, here, and here) to use for the invitations and everything else. So they will look something like this:

And the stamps:

And now onto the Save-the-Dates! (and the caterers and photographers and florists...sigh)

welcomes, weddings, and Wrenches...oh my!

On May 5, 2008, my boyfriend, Michael Thomas Wrench, Jr., proposed to me on the "Rails to Trails" near my parents' home. Exciting, I know! In short, this blog, aka "wedlog," is a result of that day and sort of an online journal for these next major steps in my life...
